AMANDA PEMBERTON – Deputy Manager
Amanda is the deputy manager and has worked at the nursery for four years. She holds a Level 3 qualification. Amanda joined as a practitioner and through hard work and dedication has worked her way up to the position of Deputy Manager. She has worked in each of the rooms and has a great deal of experience working with all age ranges.
Chloe Derbyshire – Nursery Practitioner
Chloe holds a Level 3 qualification. She has worked at Little Explorers for over three years and has always enjoyed working within the Baby Unit. Chloe loves anything Disney and enjoys sharing that with the children.
Kelly Atkinson – Nursery Practitioner
Kelly has worked in childcare for over eight years and holds her Level 3 qualification. She has worked with a range of ages and enjoys sharing her experiences. Kelly enjoys going to football matches and dog walking in her free time.
Laura Morgan – Lead Practitioner
Laura has achieved her level 6 qualification and is the lead practitioner in Tweenies. Laura really enjoys creative activities and preparing pictures and board displays. She also likes to be outside where the children can play and explore and especially likes to take the children on “bug hunts.” Laura enjoys reading to the children, enacting the storylines as she does so.
Laura-Stephanie Beard – Nursery Practitioner
Laura holds her Level 3 qualification and is based in Tweenies. Laura is very creative and enjoys bringing new ideas to the team. Outside of nursery Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Rachel Pennington – Nursery Practitioner
Rachel has been at Little Explorers for almost a year. She holds her Level 5 qualification and is working towards her degree at university alongside working at the setting. Rachel currently works within the Tweenie unit and enjoys providing new experiences for the children. She enjoys socialising with friends and watching films.
Terri Jackson – Lead Practitioner
Terri holds her Level 3 qualification and has been at the setting for over three years where she began her journey with us as a student. She is about to begin her Level 4 qualification and is very much looking forward to this. Terri is the Lead Practitioner in Tots 1 and is also provided support to the staff within Tinies. Outside of work Terri enjoys photography.
Samantha Cook – Nursery Practitioner
Samantha ‘Sam’ has worked in nurseries for over four years and holds her Level 3 qualification. Sam has a very calm attitude and this works well within the age group she cares for. Outside of work she enjoys walking her dog and catching up with friends.
Dana Derbyshire – Nursery Practitioner
Dana has recently completed her Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce. Dana is new to Early Years and having worked initially in Tinies she is currently developing her skills within Tots 1. In her spare time Dana enjoys dancing and has competed since the age of three.
Jessica Sillitoe – Nursery Practitioner
Jessica currently holds her Level 3 qualification and has worked in childcare for over a year. Jessica is currently completing her degree at university alongside working at the nursery. Jessica is an avid football fan, she enjoys playing football and is a season ticket holder for Blackburn Rovers Football Club.
Kelly Pennington – Lead Practitioner
Kelly holds a Level 3 qualification and has recently been promoted to the role of lead practitioner in Tots 2. Kelly is very creative and loves messy play! When not in work she enjoys hairdressing.
Gabby Dainton – Nursery Practitioner
Gabby holds a level 2 qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce and is currently working towards her Level 3 qualification. She has worked in Early Years for just over three years. Gabby is based in Tots 2 and enjoys working with the younger children.Gabby has an artistic flair and has been a volunteer at Scouts since she was young.
Laura Morris – Nursery Practitioner
Laura has been at the setting for just over a year. Laura holds her Level 2 qualification and is currently completing her Maths GCSE in preparation for her Level 3. Laura has worked in Tweenies and is currently developing her skills in Tots 2. Laura enjoys spending time with her two little girls at the weekend.
Alex Murtagh -Early Years Teacher
Alex is qualified Early Years teacher based in the Pre-School and helps prepare the children for transition to school. Alex enjoys developing literacy and phonic skills with the children and is passionate about the development of the young people in her care. Alex also loves the outdoors environment, enjoying activities on a larger scale.
Alison Dobson – Nursery Practitioner
Alison has worked at Little Explorers for two years and has over fifteen years experience working within the Early Years sector. She holds a Level 4 qualification. Alison currently works within the Pre-School and enjoys encouraging children to become more independent. In her spare time Alison enjoys walking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Rhiannon Swinhoe – Nursery Practitioner
Rhiannon joined Little Explorers in March 2016. She has recently qualified as an Early years Educator and is excited to gain knowledge and build up her experiences. Rhiannon enjoys going to concerts and socialising with friends.
Demi Read – Nursery Practitioner
Demi has worked in Early Years for three years and currently holds her Level 3 qualification. Demi has been at the setting for just over twelve months and enjoys working across all rooms. In her spare time Demi enjoys visiting Ireland with her family and spending time with friends.
Amy Elliott – Nursery Practitioner
Amy has worked in childcare for over thirteen years and has been at Little Explorers for over three years. She has recently completed her Level 3 qualification and values working with different age groups. Amy particularly enjoys providing outdoor experiences for the children. Outside of work Amy enjoys being a mum and spending time with her family.
Megan Derbyshire – Nursery Practitioner
Megan has been at Little Explorers for twelve months and has recently achieved her Level 2 qualification. Megan is making excellent progress developing her skills with each of the age groups. In her spare time Megan takes part in Morris Dancing and enjoys watching football.
